Tonsillitis

Came down with tonsillitis. Spent most of Sunday and today in bed, drifting in and out of consciousness; Sunday my fever was around 39–40 °C (102–104 °F), today it seems to have gone down but I'm still very tired. (Having to get up several times during the night didn't help.)

So anyway, I'm on penicillin now, so I'm going to find out whether I'm allergic to it or not :) No adverse effects so far, though, and I took my first table about three hours ago.

meh, that really sucks.

I know it won't reassure you, but my penicillin allergy didn't surface until the last day of my course of antibiotics. It can unfortunately hit at any time, so be prepared to call an ambulance when you develop symptoms - don't sit around for an hour trying to decide whether calling an ambulance is the way to go..

I really don't get why doctors prescribe penicillin at all...

I hope that you are one of the lucky 90% though and that the infection clears up.
