pneThe Economist’s Johnson blog on language had an entry today about a confusing news headline in Japanese, where depending on how it is parsed (well, lexed/tokenised/segmented, actually), you can get two rather different meanings: instead of reading “Afghan Aviation Minister Beaten to Death”, you get “Afghan Airborne Sumo was Killed off”.
