The airline “Deutsche BA” was sold to Hans Rudolf Wöhrl for the symbolic price of one euro. However, when he arrived at the notary public’s office, he found that he didn’t have enough small change—and had to borrow a euro from an interpreter who was present for the negotiations.
He later quipped, “And so I must confess that I financed the purchase through a loan.”
