What a difference altitude makes!

This morning in front of my office building, I saw the sun just rising—I could see maybe a quarter of it.

When I got to my office in the 10th floor, the sun was easily two diameters above the horizon.

A rather striking difference.

Either that or you took a long while to get up the stairs.

It's just the same in the house where I live - I can see the sun rise all winter (although that is the only thing I can see since it immideately hides behind a mountain), but the poor people on the lower floors don't get sunshine in their kitchen until March...
