Some people use Twitter a lot, some use it rarely… I’m not sure whether it’s my generation or what, but using it multiple times in a hour, perhaps even for nearly-real-time conversations, seems strange to me; it’s not something I’m used to.
What’s your Twitter usage?
Do you have a Twitter account?
Nope.

I said I haven’t got a Twitter account!

Also, if you want to follow me, I’m “mizinamo” on Twitter. I very rarely post, though, and don’t read very often. But I do tend to add people I like, as a kind of marker of friendship; just be aware that it’s not a very efficient way of communicating with me :)
So, if you want, let me know what your Twitter account is, if I’m not following you already! Comments are screened. (Let me know if you want a comment unscreened.)

Date: Wednesday, 29 February 2012 19:33 (UTC)I do like to treat Twitter as the occasional real-time conversation platform, but I like it even more as an asynchronous conversation platform. And I very much like the RT mechanism (which is, I think, at least partially why I post to Tumblr and Pinterest way more than anywhere else besides Twitter).

Date: Wednesday, 29 February 2012 23:04 (UTC)I've long had a kind of fantasy about a conlang twitter - a conlang that makes use of unicode and especially logographic characters to make a new language with a logographic script that can pack as much information as possible into the limited characters of a tweet. I have never actually tried this, though.

Date: Thursday, 1 March 2012 05:29 (UTC)I thought of using preferred numbers at first, but this is geekier :)
The inspiration came from an article I read somewhere on agile software development, specifically on estimating project duration; apparently, there’s a method where you have to estimate using Fibonacci numbers, under the theory that the longer something takes, the less accurate you can be about the exact duration, so forcing you to round to the nearest Fibonacci number is a good way of reminding you that it’s a ballpark number they’re after.
