Sometimes I feel in a bit of a quanday as to when to read an entry that appears on my friends page.

On the one hand, it's nice (I think) for the author to get quick feedback while he's still got the topic on his mind, but on the other hand, reading the comments can sometimes be nearly as interesting as the entry itself, which points towards waiting a while so that there will be time for some comments to accumulate. (Though if everybody were to follow strategy #2, that wouldn't work, either.)

A slight compromise is to read and comment early, then revisit the entry occasionally to read comments that were posted in the meantime (but then you have to remember to do that) or to subscribe to comments on that entry (but then you get them at random intervals and you might not remember the context).

I think there's no one good answer here.
