And I thought giving up snacks was hard...
Sunday, 14 March 2004 20:39I thought giving up snacks was hard, but tonight I met a sister missionary who has given up chocolate—for ever.
As I understand it, she was working with an inactive (PC-speak: "less active") member who wanted to come back to church, but she smoked and didn't want to go there with clothes smelling of smoke. So the sister suggested that she'd give up something she liked a lot if the member would give up smoking, and chose chocolate.

I can't be sure, but at any rate, I thought it was a pretty awesome thing to do, in the original sense of the word - I'm awed by her determination and support for this other lady.
