zompist
Date: Saturday, 16 July 2005 18:59 (UTC)I first came across him because he maintained the FAQ for the Usenet newsgroup sci.lang. I later returned because of the constructed languages and the virtual world (Almea) he created -- first for a D&D campaign and later fleshed out considerably. I was "into" Verdurian (his most well-developed languages) for quite a while but haven't found/made time for Almeology in the past few years.
I don't know why he calls himself zompist. I think it was a handle from a role-playing game, but I don't know whether it has a meaning or not. His domain is zompist.com (after the provider that hosted his site, tezcat.com, closed up shop, he got himself a domain name of his own so that the URL would be stable).
