Installed the monitor now; looks good. 1280×1024@60 Hz (which I had configured prior to disconnecting) looks bad on the CRT though! But decent on the LCD.

TV doesn't look so good on the LCD, though—during fast movements, the picture is rather blurry. But I think that's a general problem that LCDs have.

Quite a few people at work got new 21" TFTs, and with higher resolution, they had rather blurry views. They got graphic cards with digital outlet then, and that helped a lot, the pictures are really sharp now.

I'm using a digital outlet as well; fortunately, both my graphics card and the new monitor have appropriate connectors. (The 17" Aldi TFT only has a VGA input, not DVI as well.)
