Random memory
Wednesday, 26 September 2007 14:37The last time we ate at McDonalds, I finished off with a plain hamburger -- just a patty and a bun.
Surprisingly to me, they knew exactly what I meant. (I guess I don't know what kind of customisations they're prepared to handle)
I had never had one before, but it was really good. Mmmmmmm.

I wasn't sure what wording to use to ask for just the meat and bread, with no other toppings or condiments, but they understood me on the first attempt. (I think I started with "einen Hamburger ohne alles, bitte", then tried to explain, and the lady behind the counter cut me off and asked, "einen 'Hamburger plain', ja? schon klar" or similar.)
