(Is saying "hóngbāo nálái" a common thing? I got it from a Wikipedia article, but you never know whether things on there are "everybody does this" or "the guy that put the sentence in the article does this, together with his two best friends".)

And a Wikipedia entry I read rendered the word as 逗來, perhaps also due to the font issue.

yea, many of the Cantonese characters are "non-standard" and can't be displayed unless you install the HKSCS...
given the context, 逗來 can still be understood, though.
