I'm totally excited about we_swap_snacks and can hardly wait till signups open next weekend.

(And I wonder whether to wish to an Australian—so I could see what Tim-Tams are like—or an American—so I can see what Peeps are like. I think I'll just take whoever's assigned to me; chances are that'll be an American simply because of where the majority of users live.)

Best if eaten slightly stale, IMO.

I heard that! And that some people say they should be fresh, others say they should be stale, others in between... being able to form my own opinion and see what the difference is in the first place would be fun :)

What happens to them, exactly, when they go stale? Do they go hard? Change taste? Texture? And how long does it take for them to go stale?

I prefer mine slightly stale, but that's just me.

They do get a bit harder and the taste is more or less the same, just not as fresh tasting as if they were straight up out of the box. I usually leave mine open for about 24 hrs to get them to the correct staleness.
