Poor Amy is ill.

She napped for two hours in the early afternoon, which is unusual; when Stella took her temperature afterwards, it was 39.4 °C (102.9 °F).

This evening, it was up to 39.8 °C (103.6 °F), so Stella gave her a suppository and let her sleep in her bed.

Oh, it's awful when the children are ill. They look so helpless.
When our son was 1,5 years old, he's got terrible diarrhea with fever and they hospitalized him and my wife in an isolation hospital. When I visited them on the 3rd day (I could only look at them through a window) it looked like he believed he would never come out, we even called him "little rag".
We give our son a pyretic when the temperature is above 38°C and we call an ambulance when it's above 40°C.

I'm sure everything will be OK with Amy! Good luck!

I'm sorry to hear that, hope she's feeling better soon!

Thank you!

She seemed to be feeling better about an hour ago, so perhaps the paracetamol was starting to work. She's now in her bed and (hopefully) sleeping -- let's see how she'll be in the morning.

Stella will probably end up taking her to the pædiatrician tomorrow either way.

I always prefer to see the pediatrician when the fever gets that high. And why do the kids' fevers always seem to spike on the weekend, when the doctor is so much more difficult to get to?

Keep us informed.

Her temperature was 39.2 °C this morning at six but she's been horsing around for the past couple of hours so I think it's probably gone down by now.

That sounds like a good sign. Here's wishing her continued improvement.

BTW, she slept for over three hours at noon, Stella told me over IM, so she's not over it yet (whatever bug it is that she caught), but she does seem on the mend.

jIQoSqu'. I hope it's improved somewhat since you posted. I know how terrible fevers can be for young'uns.
